Step 1: Make Sure Your Vehicle Was Titled in Texas

The first thing to confirm is whether your car was last titled in Texas. If your vehicle was purchased or registered in another state, you will need to request a replacement title through that state’s DMV.

Step 2: Fill Out the Right Form

To request a duplicate title, you will need to fill out Form VTR-34 — also known as the Application for a Certified Copy of Title.

You will need the following:
